As of January 2025, there are around 24,479 open schools across England. This total covers every type of establishment — including state-funded nursery, primary, secondary, and special schools, as well as non-maintained special schools, pupil referral units, general hospital schools, and independent schools.

You can view each school’s phase of education (with its official age range), type of establishment, postcode, and local education authority (LEA). In the column “Type”, ♀️ ≍ girls school, ♂️ ≍ boys school, 🔶 denotes grammar schools (state secondary schools with selective admissions).
