List of Parishes in England and Wales

In England, a civil parish is the lowest tier of local government, used for villages, small towns, and suburbs. They have their own local authority, either a parish council or a parish meeting, which provides local services like managing parks, allotments, and streetlights, and represents the community's views to larger councils. Across England, local authority districts vary: some are entirely unparished (no parish tier), others are wholly parished, and many are part-parished, combining parished and unparished areas.

In Wales, communities are the Welsh equivalent of civil parishes. Every part of Wales lies within a community, though only some have an elected community or town council. Where they exist, these councils handle very local matters and speak for residents to the county or county borough council.
